English For Careers: Roles and Relevance

Overview

Thailand’s economy nowadays depends mainly on worldwide competition. For the country to be competitive globally, it is essential that workplace personnel communicate competently in English.  The seminar will examine the question of the importance of English for careers and the raised issues for persons who are interested in the relevant role of English language for their careers. Such issues include the best means of achieving fluency in English language for careers, including English in Journalism, Mass Communication, Services Industry, Education, and Business. Also, the discussion will point out the limitations and the barriers of English usage for one’s career and propose the guidelines for having the proficiency of English communication. 

 

Objectives 

  • To examine the importance and the role of English for careers.
  • To point out the limitations and the barriers of English usage in one’s career.
  • To discuss the approaches for using English effectively.
  • To enhance the English communication competence.
